The military has been known globally to drive research, development and innovation which are part of the key areas needed to Advance the security of a nation.
The Director General, Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), Major General Garba Wahab rtd stated this in Abuja Nigeria's Capital on the sideline of the Nigerian Army Research Development and Innovation Seminar held at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, Nigeria.
The DG NARC stressed that there is no nation that can attain development without the components of research, and innovation.
He said the Resource Centre was established to raise ideas that bring about innovations and development through seminars in collaboration with the Army Transformation and Innovation Department.
General Garba Wahab said a major challenge with the home grown innovations is the lack of trust and believe in what is made at home.
"There's a lot of development that has taken place, we don't need to buy or get most of the things we require but above all the infrastructures must be there for you to be able to develop the digital aspect of research and development."
He challenged the average Nigerian to see themselves as leaders not just those at the top, and call for a hands-on approach and cooperation amongs citizens.
