Dr. Kana Charges Committee On Proposed Veterans Bill To Proffer Solutions That Improve Veterans Lives

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Kana has charged the committee members tasked with reviewing the proposed Veterans Federation of Nigeria Bill to review and proffer immediate solutions to enhance the welfare and livelihoods of Nigerian veterans.  

He gave the charge while inaugurating the committee on reviewing of the proposed Veterans Federation of Nigeria Bill at the Headquarters, Ministry of Defence Abuja, Nigeria's Capital. 
The committee's primary objective according to Information and Public Relations Officer 1, Ministry of Defence, Zayyan Gwandu is to propose necessary amendments to the bill, aiming to replace the Nigerian Legion Act, Cap N119 Laws of the Federation, 2004.

He emphasized that it was critical to for members to ensure that the proposed legislation aligns with the evolving needs and aspirations of our esteemed veterans.

"Our veterans have selflessly served our nation with honor and distinction. It is imperative that we prioritize their well-being and address their concerns through effective legislation. I urge the committee members to work tirelessly towards developing a comprehensive bill that will significantly improve the lives of our veterans."
The committee, headed by Dr. Ibrahim Kana as Chairman, is poised to conduct thorough deliberations and consultations to ensure that the proposed Veterans Federation of Nigeria Bill adequately addresses the pressing issues facing Nigerian veterans.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja, included National Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, retired Major General AM Jibril and Director of the Joint Services Department, Ministry of Defence, Mrs. Olu Mustapha.
