Two (2) Boko Haram fighters have laid down their arms and surrendered to the troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Sector 3, Monguno, Nigeria on 13 April 2024.
The latest fighters to surrender according to the Chief of Military Public Information MNJTF N'Djamena Chad, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi were identified as Ahmed Isiaka and Adam Muhammed, aged 18 and 17 respectively, from Kolloram, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria.
They relinquished various items, including 250 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 50 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, and a 9mm PARA round, among other personal belongings.
It would be recalled that on 26 March 2024, the MNJTF reported the surrender of 2 terrorist commanders, underscoring the effectiveness of the diverse non-kinetic measures the MNJTF has implemented to promote safety and security in Lake Chad basin region, impacted by Boko Haram and other terrorist activities.
The MNJTF in the statement said it is committed to restoring peace and facilitating the return of normalcy to the affected region.
