President Launch DICON's Evolution Strategy And Road Map 2030

Nigeria's President, Bola Tinubu has launched the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria, DICON's Evolution Strategy and Road Map 2030. 

The launching was done at the Maiden Africa Defence Industries Conference (ADIC) and the DICON 60th Anniversary Celebration at the Yar’Adua Centre, in Abuja Nigeria's Capital. 
The President who was represented at the event by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume said the launch of the DICON's Evolution Strategy and Road Map 2030 is based on the DICON Act 2023, with the aims of bridging performance gaps in the Military Industrial Complex, inorder to reposition DICON as a global player.  

"The DICON Evolution Strategy and Road Map 2030, based on the DICON Act 2023 that we launch today, aims to bridge performance gaps in our Military Industrial Complex and reposition DICON as a global player, as was long envisaged by our founding fathers" stated the President. 
Speaking on the DICON 2023 Act, the President stressed that the Defense Industries Corporation Of Nigeria (DICON) Act 2023 marks a turning point for Nigeria's Defence sector as it creates the right environment for the cooperation to be equipped with modern automated production lines and production systems. 

He said DICON's 60th Anniversary Celebration is a celebration of six decades of resilience and innovation by the Defence Industry in Nigeria. 

He re called that "in 1966, barely two years after its establishment, DICON's ammunition production contributed significantly to the preservation of tge country during the civil war, which has led to the unity that now is". 

He expressed pride in the progress made by the defence industry in Nigeria towards establishing the first unscrewed or unmanned aerial and land vehicle automated production lines.
"Today, DICON has the most significant market potential in Africa and is repositioned to leverage the vast potential of the private sector to pursue innovations and technologies that will ramp up our indigenous defence productions. These lofty steps would indeed bring us closer to the rest of the world, and no doubt significantly impact our current efforts to defeat terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes in our country"
The event featured the unveiling of a new corporate strategy and strategic road map that would create new value for all stakeholders and ensure the growth of Nigeria's Military Industrial Complex, with DICON at its center. 

The event also witnessed the launching of a well-researched and peer reviewed book that answers many questions around DICON and Nigeria's Military Industrial Complex.
