The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, are in Maiduguri, Borno State for an operational visit to the troops of Theatre Command, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK).
A statement by the Personal Assistant to the Minister of State for Defence on Media, Ahmad Dan-Wudil said the visit is a continued strategic oversight and commitment to the ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the North East and aims at assessing the operational readiness of troops.
The visit aims to equally reinforce high-level support for frontline personnel, and review of the ongoing efforts towards restoring lasting peace and stability in the North East region.
The Armed Forces of Nigeria remain resolute in their mandate to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation.
