Civil Military Cooperation : Nigerian Army Give Borno communities Quick Impact Projects

In commemoration of its Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Annual Conference 2023, the Nigerian Army (NA) on Tuesday 12th December 2023 commissioned several projects in Borno State inorder to put smiles on the faces of residents.

The projects are aimed at enhancing living conditions and meeting pressing needs of the beneficiary communities, who were affected by insurgency.  
A statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu said the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja inaugurated the projects on Tuesday 12 December 2023, alongside commanders and senior officers of the Nigerian Army. 
Among the projects commissioned by the COAS are; a newly renovated single block classrooms at Zajiri Junior Secondary School in Baga Road Maiduguri, Solar Powered Industrial Borehole at Jiddari Polo Community, renovated blocks of classrooms at Lawan Mustapha School in Konduga community and newly upgraded and equipped Maternity/Child Healthcare Centre in Gubio Community.

At the commissioning, the Chief of Army Staff, stated that the projects are meant to give back to the society in commemoration of the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference 2023. 

The Quick Impact projects, he pointed out, are a token of encouragement and support for the communities. Gen Lagbaja stressed that in selecting the projects the NA conducted needs assessment and obtained inputs from members of the communities.
He assured of the commitment of NA in supporting the good people of Borno State, stressing the need for sustained collaboration between the military, government and the local communities to ensure effective utilization and maintenance of the newly commissioned projects.
In separate remarks, the community leaders expressed gratitude to the NA for its dedication to the betterment of the people of Borno State. They noted that the projects will improve the daily lives of the communities and contribute to the overall development of the state.
