Matawalle Says Maiden Africa Defence Industries Conference Set Pace For Future of Defence Industry

The Minster of State for Defence Dr Bello Matawalle has stated that the maiden African Defence Industries Conference 2024 and it's innovative participants have set the pace for the future of the Defence Industry towards attaining self reliance. 

Dr. Bello Matawalle stated this while declaring close the 60th Anniversary of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria DICON and the Maiden Africa Defence Industries Conference held in Abuja Nigeria. 
He applauded all the innovators, collaborators, experts and foreign partners that have showcased that self reliance in defence is attainable during the maiden African Defence Industries Conference 2024. 

"We have over the few days witnessed unparalleled showcase of innovation, collaboration and expertise emanating from our indegenous defence industry, and foreign partners. The event had not only highlighted the progress we have made but also set a pace for the future where our nation stands resilient and self reliant in matters of Defence and security" stated Matawalle. 
The Director General Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria DICON, Major General Aniedi Edet in a vote of thanks appreciated the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu for his emense support DICON. 

He appreciated members of the National Assembly, the Ministers, Service Chiefs and all the partners that had made the 60th celebration a success as DICON looks forward to a greater future ahead.  
The DICON Director General assured that the journey to defence self reliance is a vision being pursued earnestly especially the actualization of the Defence industrial complex. 

The one week activities marking the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria 60th Anniversary and the Maiden Africa Defence Industries Conference 2024 came to a close with a gala night holding the Defence Headquarters Command Officers Mess.
