The troops of Operation Whirl Stroke, Nigerian army troops, the Police and the Benue State Civil Protection Guard, On April 26, 2025, have repelled suspected bandits attempted to enter Abaji Town, located in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area 9f Benue State, at around 16:30hrs, firing sporadically.
In response, security operatives, swiftly arrived at the scene and repelled the bandits as the assailants fled following the arrival of the combined security forces, preventing further damage.
However, two women were shot by the bandits before the security teams arrived. One woman, identified as Iveren Titus, died on the spot, while the second woman is was taken to NkST Hospital in Abaji for treatment.
A serious manhunt is underway to apprehend the fleeing bandits, with all surrounding areas being combed.
