Minister of State for Defence Reiterates Nigeria's Commitment To Building Sustainable Domestic Defence Industry

The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello has reiterated his commitment to building and supporting a sustainable domestic defence industry capable of responding to national security needs. 


Dr. Matawalle stated this when he received in audience a delegation from D7G Limited, a defence technology company at the Ministry of Defence, Ship House, Abuja. 


A statement by the Personal Assistant to the Minster on Media, Ahmad Dan-Wudil said the delegation was led by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Osman Chennar. 

According to the statement, the meeting was convened as part of the ongoing engagements with licensed domestic defence manufacturers, aimed at enhancing national defence production capabilities in accordance with Nigeria’s Defence Industrialization Policy as well as the strategic objectives of achieving self-reliance in military procurement.


Matawalle commended D7G Limited for its forward-looking investments in defence production infrastructure and emphasized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s stance on reducing external dependency in line with Nigeria’s national defence and security priorities. 


The Minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s readiness to collaborate with qualified defence companies to strengthen Nigeria’s military-industrial base and ensure strategic autonomy in arms production, logistics support, and system sustainment.


D7G Limited is a registered member of the Defence Industries Association of Nigeria (DIAN) and specialized in research, design, manufacturing, and integration of military-grade systems and platforms.
