Lagos State says Preparations are Underway for African University Games

Preparations are underway for the 11th African University Games scheduled to take place from September 20 to 29, 2024 in Lagos, Nigeria.

The games geared towards showcasing a commitment to fostering sports excellence within the African university community are to be hosted by the Lagos State University (LASU) and the University of Lagos (UNILAG) as co-hosts.

There will be an array of disciplines across two categories including Individual Sports such Athletics, Badminton, Chess, Judo, Table Tennis, Tennis, Karate, Taekwondo, Swimming as well as Team Sports including Basketball, Football, Volleyball, and Handball. 

The Lagos Staff Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the African university sports community as it aligns with his vision to promote sports development and provide world-class facilities for athletes.
