The 11th President of the State University of New York, Oswego, in the United States, Professor Peter O. Nwosu has stated that his vision for Sunny Oswego is to strengthen the culture of excellence, innovation and inclusion that the University has been known for.
Professor Nwosu was speaking at the inauguration ceremony that officially makes him the President of the New York based institution by the Lake, as the first president of color and the first immigrant to take the helm of affairs at the institution as contained in footage and photos recieved from the Director of Communications, Office of Communications and Marketing

The historic occasion took place on Friday, 27th September 2024 where the Nigerian scholar who is a graduate of the Harvard Institutes for Higher Education took the helm of affairs in the 163-year legacy of the New York based educational institution popularity known as Sunny Oswego.
Professor Nwosu in his inaugural speech emphasized that he intends to keep the tenets of the Chancellor and the board of trustees four pillars which include student's success, research and scholarship, diversity, equity and inclusion and economic development and upward mobility
"Like many of our alumni, I arrived in this country as an immigrant student, some of you may have heard the story of the shoes i wore when i first came to the United States, those shoes humbled me, centre me, and remind me of the journey that brought me hear, highlighting the transformative power of educate"
"The students who come to us each year come in their own shoes, seeking opportunities to improve their lives and their communities, those shoes reminds us of our sheared pupose and moral responsibility to ensure that every student who comes to us completes their education and goes on to serve their community nationa and the world" President Nwosu said.
