MNJTF Troops Repel A Night Terrorists Attack AT Kirawa, Cameroon

The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Troops have repelled a night attack in Kirawa, Cameroon on Monday 25 November 2024. 

The troops, operating under Sector One in Mora, demonstrated exceptional vigilance and combat readiness in the face of a coordinated night assault by the ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorists in its determined to dismantle terrorist operations in the Lake Chad Region. 

A statement by Chief Military Public Information Officer MNJTF N'Djamena Chad, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba said the attack occurred under the cover of darkness, as terrorists attempted to overrun the MNJTF's tactical outpost in Kirawa.
The alert troops quickly identified the approaching threat and engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle. The troops' swift and decisive response resulted in the elimination of 2 terrorists, while others were forced to retreat, sustaining gunshot wounds.

Consolidating on the victory, own troops further conducted a thorough sweep of the area to ensure the security of their position. During the clearance operation, they recovered a grenade and an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), preventing potential future threats.

MNJTF will continue in its commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the Lake Chad Region.
