A total of 96 participants drawn from all sectors of the economy are set to graduate from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) SEC 46/2024, on Friday 28th February 2025 at the institute located in Kuru Jos.
The Alumni Association of the National Institute hosted the participants of the course to a presidential diner on Monday 24th February 2025 in Abuja at the Armed Forces Command Officer's Mess.
Speaking at the occasion, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, has applauded the National Institute for Strategic Studies (NIPSS) and the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) for their consistency and dedication in pursuit of intellectual discourse to foster national development.
According to Mrs. Walson-Jack, the institute is not just an academic institution, but a place where character is refined and visionary leadership shaped to act as vision boards for the society.
The Head of Service while addressing the participants of the course said the knowledge they have gannered, the networks so far build, and experiences of the SEC 46 will act as key drivers to their success and would empower them to tackle the most pressing challenges facing the nation.
Walson-Jack said the tradition of nurturing thought leadership and strategic thinking through various initiatives was a testament to the value of leadership and wavering commitment to advancing the nation, Nigeria.
She recalled that the rigour of passing through the institute was a challenging yet exhilarating journey that not only shaped her career, but also refined her perspective on leadership.
“Tonight, we gather to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the graduating class of SEC 46/2024, indeed, I was there this afternoon and listened with great attention to your excellent presentation" she stated.
The Chairman of the Occasion, Mr Muhammed Umar, stated that being members of NIPSS is a great privilege but with great privileges always come greater responsibilities. He therefore reminded the graduating participants of the great expectations on them to act properly in their various institutions and places of representation as they give their quota in making a better society.
The Director -Genral of NIPSS, Prof. Ayo Omotayo, also urged the graduating participants to remain disciplined and dedicate to the task of national developmen, while also urging them not to forget the value of leadership that they were taught during their period of study at the institute.
The President of AANI, Ambassador Emmanuel Okafor expressed pride over the performance of members of SEC 46, who he revealed made one of the best research presentations so far in Nigeria. He said President Bola Tinubu had described the AANI members as a group of assets to the country.
Ambassador Okafor equally assured that AANI, as an advocacy body, is dedicated to promoting good governance, transparency, and accountability in the country.
“We recognise the importance of governance, education, capacity building, and mentoring. The next generation of leaders are all here tonight. We are not only celebrating the achievements of our graduating members, but also their potentials to drive positive change in their respective places of work,” he said.
