At least 19 people have been killed in an armed bandit attack along the Bauchi-Plateau border on May 4, sources confirmed to Zagazola Makama
The sources said that team of professional hunters from Duguri and Gwana Districts, while on routine patrol near the Duguri Mansur and Dajin Madam forest areas, came under attack by bandits at approximately 5:40 a.m.
Eight bodies were recovered from the scene, with an additional 11 corpses, mostly civilians from Sabuwar Sara village, found on the bandits’ escape route. The victims are believed to have been shot while attempting to flee.
In response, Army troops from the 33 Artillery Brigade, police and other security agencies launched a joint operation to track down the assailants and prevent further attacks in the area.
