Notorious Gun Runner Arrested With, Seven Fabricated Arms, Ammunition Along Sokoto-Gusau Highway

Security operatives in Tureta, Zamfara State, while acting on credible intelligence arrested a notorious gun runner, Murtala Abubakar, aged 45, on May 4, following a stop-and-search operation along the Sokoto-Gusau highway.

Abubakar, a resident of Maradun Local Government Area, was found in possession of four fabricated rifles, three fabricated pistols, 16 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, and three rounds of G3 ammunition. 

The suspect and the recovered items have been transferred to the State Police Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Sokoto for further investigation.
