Air India Crash: Several Reports Speculative Over Cause of Crash -NTSB

Air India 171 crash new details about plane crash in Ahmedabad that killed 260 people emerging 

The United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has stated that the Air India crash media reports on the reasons behind the incident were speculative and premature. 

India's Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), which is investigating the accident, had released a preliminary report last week which left more questions unanswered.

Several media reports Indian and Western media speculating the cause of the crash had pointed to possible pilot error.


The American NTSB, an investigative agency that investigates civil transportation accidents while speaking through its Chair Jennifer Homendy was quoted on X saying "Recent media reports on the Air India 171 crash are premature and speculative. India's Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau just released its preliminary report. Investigations of this magnitude take time,"

India's Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu urged the press and people not to "jump to conclusions" and wait for the final report.
