🇳🇬 Operation LAFIYA NAKOWA: Troops of 6 Brigade rescue kidnapped victim in Taraba State

  


Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army / Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke have rescued a kidnapped victim, Alhaji Ali Adamu, during an operation in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The rescue, carried out under the ongoing Operation LAFIYA NAKOWA, is part of intensified efforts to flush out bandits and other criminal elements across the state.  


According to a statement signed by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade, Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, the operation followed a distress call received by troops deployed in Lau, reporting the abduction of Alhaji Adamu while he was sleeping outside his compound.  




Acting swiftly on the information, the troops mobilized and launched a pursuit of the kidnappers. On realizing that the troops were closing in, the criminals abandoned the victim and fled into nearby bushes. The rescued victim was subsequently reunited with his family without any ransom paid.  


In a related development, local vigilantes and hunters on patrol around Maraban Kunini apprehended a suspected kidnapper identified as Mr. Lalau Adamu, aged 30, alleged to have participated in the abduction. When troops arrived at the scene, the suspect was found to have sustained injuries from mob action. He was immediately evacuated under military protection to a medical facility for treatment while investigations continue.  


The Commander, 6 Brigade / Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the swift response and coordination between troops, vigilantes, and local hunters that led to the successful rescue. He urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to strengthen ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security across the state.  


The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to the safety and security of citizens while sustaining operations aimed at ridding Taraba State and its environs of criminal activity.
