The Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, disclosed that the approach was demonstrated during an operational visit by the Commander Infantry Corps, Major General Godwin Mutkut, to Headquarters 25 Brigade, Damboa, where newly completed facilities were commissioned alongside a comprehensive review of ongoing military operations within the Brigade's Area of Responsibility.
During the engagement, Major General Mutkut received detailed operational updates on the prevailing security environment, ongoing counter-terrorism activities, operational achievements and existing challenges before commissioning the Brigade Commander's Residence, Headquarters Office Complex Annex and Brigade Guard Room. The infrastructure projects are expected to strengthen command efficiency, improve working conditions and enhance the Brigade's operational capacity in one of the Nigerian Army's most active theatres.
Addressing officers and soldiers, the Commander Infantry Corps conveyed the commendation of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for the troops' resilience and professionalism in sustained operations against terrorist groups. He emphasised that the Nigerian Army's expanding welfare initiatives are designed not only to improve the quality of life of personnel and their families but also to translate directly into stronger operational readiness and mission effectiveness.
Major General Mutkut further reminded personnel that operational excellence must remain anchored on discipline, professionalism and adherence to the ethics and traditions of the Service. He reiterated the Nigerian Army's zero-tolerance policy on drug abuse, theft, indiscipline, interpersonal violence and the misuse of social media, while urging soldiers to maintain stable family relationships as an important foundation for morale and sustained operational performance.
The Commander 25 Brigade, Brigadier General Igwe Omoke, described the visit as a significant boost to the Brigade's operational outlook, noting that both the newly commissioned facilities and the leadership engagement would further motivate personnel as they continue counter-terrorism operations under Operation HADIN KAI.
The visit underscores the Nigerian Army's broader transformation strategy, where leadership presence at the frontline, continuous investment in military infrastructure and improved personnel welfare are increasingly being integrated as force multipliers to sustain operational momentum against insurgent groups across the North-East.
