The reinforcement was marked at the Passing Out Parade of Recruit Intake held at Depot Nigerian Army, Amasiri-Edda, Ebonyi State, where the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, addressed the new soldiers, as contained in a statement issued by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele.

The latest intake forms part of a sustained recruitment programme that has recently produced new soldiers from the Depot Nigerian Army in Zaria and the newly established training depot in Osogbo, reflecting the Army's deliberate expansion of its training infrastructure and manpower development capacity.

Lieutenant General Shaibu told the recruits that their training had been deliberately structured to prepare them for the realities of modern warfare and Nigeria's increasingly complex security environment. He urged them to uphold discipline, professionalism and unwavering loyalty to the Constitution, reminding them that the nation expects them to justify its investment through courage, integrity and selfless service.

The Army Chief described the establishment of Depot Nigerian Army, Amasiri-Edda, as a strategic milestone in the service's transformation agenda, noting that the facility strengthens military training infrastructure while broadening the Army's capacity to generate combat-ready personnel for operations across the country.

He also commended the Commandant, instructors and support staff for producing soldiers capable of meeting contemporary operational demands and sustaining the Nigerian Army's readiness across multiple theatres.

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru described the depot as a strategic national asset for both Ebonyi State and the South-East, saying its establishment has strengthened security, stimulated economic activities and created new opportunities for surrounding communities. He reaffirmed the state's commitment to sustaining collaboration with the Armed Forces and other security agencies in promoting peace, stability and development.

The ceremony attracted senior military officers, government officials, traditional rulers, families and invited guests. Activities included military drills, precision parade displays and the presentation of awards to outstanding recruits, underscoring the Nigerian Army's continued investment in building a disciplined, professional and mission-ready force.
