The visit took place on Monday, 19 October 2026, during the Army Chief’s official working visit to Rwanda. A statement issued by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, on 19 October 2026 highlighted the visit as an opportunity to reflect on the need for Nigerians to rise above ethnic, religious and political differences and work collectively with security agencies to protect national peace and stability.

The visit also reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to civilian protection and its solidarity with the people of Rwanda and the Rwanda Defence Force. The museum’s historical record underscores the enduring importance of national unity and collective action in preventing violence and safeguarding communities.
