🇳🇬 Operation FANSAN YAMMA Troops Neutralise IED Threat Along Zamfara Road

 

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have recovered and neutralised explosive devices planted by suspected terrorists along the Magami-Hannutara-Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, averting a potential threat to commuters travelling along the route.

Acting on credible information, the troops secured the affected area and conducted a thorough search, identifying two locations where explosive devices had been planted. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was subsequently deployed to deal with the threats.

The team destroyed one device and safely recovered and rendered the second harmless. The operation prevented the planted explosives from remaining an active threat to road users and surrounding communities.

Troops have since intensified patrols and surveillance in the area to protect residents, improve security along the route and deter further threats.

Members of the public have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious objects or activities to the nearest security agency.
