High Standard of Discipline And Regimentation Expected Of Officers - Buratai


The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai has stated that high standard of discipline and regimentation is expected of officers. 


He stated this at the decoration ceremony of three promoted officers of the Nigerian Army at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.


The promoted officers are, 
Army Captain, Agbo Nwabueze, who was promoted from the rank of Army Warrant Officer, to Army Captain, Captain Tijani Nnamadi, Promoted from the rank of Master warrant officer while Warrant Officer Ibrahim Zachariah was promoted to Master warrant officer Army. 


While congratulating the three promoted officers, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai said with the experience and knowledge of the job that the officers have so far, discharging their duties with the new ranks should not be a problem. 

"Captain Tijani Nnamadi and Captain Agbo Nwabueze I will say that this your rank is well deserved, you have earned the ranks,  you worked hard to pay your dues and I want to say congratulations to all of you, ensure that the Nigerian army tradition is maintained, institutional memory will continued to be imparted from one generation to the other" said COAS.

Chief of Policy and Plans Lieutenant General Lamidi Adeosun encourage the officers to continue with good conduct performance as officers while noting that promotion comes with more responsibilities. 

"As a captain in the army, if I start from the infantry aspect of it, statutorily the operational responsibility and training of about one hundred and fifty officers and soldiers in that company is the responsibility of the captain,  he only wait for operational guidance and directives of the coming commander" said General Adeosun. 

While giving vote of thanks on behalf of the promted officers, Captain Nwabueze Agbo 
Appreciated the Nigerian army for the privilege to serve the nation and promise to work even harder with the new ranks. 

"Your impact as chief of army staff in terms of doctrine organization, training leadership facilities, policies and uncountable developments  we want to appreciate on behalf of all nigerians" said Captain Nwabueze 

The officers were also advised to live by examples that other aspiring soldiers may emulate.
