Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has been awarded the best striker in the Italian top flight, Serie A for the 2022–23 season.
The organiser of the Italian topflight, made the announcement via their Twitter handle as the Nigerian start, Osimhen beat AC Milan forward Rafael Leao and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez to the coveted position.
The 24-year-old played a crucial role in Napoli’s Scudetto win, the club’s first in over three decades, scoring 25 league goals for the Partenopei this season.
The 2022–23 campaign comes to a close on Sunday, and Osimhen is in contention for top scorer while his Napoli teammate, Kim Min-Jae, gets the best defender.
