The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar says Nigerian government is determined in the revitalization of Nigeria's Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) to enable production of Military equipment and hardwares.
The Minister stated this when the Turkish Ambassador, Hidayet Bayraktar paid him a courtesy visit on 5th October, 2023 in Ship House, Abuja.
According to a statement by the Ministry, Badaru stressed that Nigeria would continue to partner with Turkey on Government to Government platform on military intelligence sharing and Defence Industries Corporation.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey and leader of the delegation, Hidayet Bayraktar appreciated the Honourable Minister for granting them audience and expressed the readiness of his country to heighten the already existing defence collaboration through military intelligence and Defence Corporation.
Bayraktar congratulated Nigeria on its 63rd Independence Anniversary and invited the Ministers for the forth coming Turkish 100 years anniversary.
Nigeria and Turkey share Identical views on regional and International issues such as disarmament, peacekeeping operations and International terrorism.
Present at the event were the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Muhammed Matawalle MON, the Permanent Secretary, Dr Ibrahim Abubakar kana mni some top Management Staff of the Ministry.
