The Adamawa State chapter of the Sports Writers Association has lost one of its female Sports Journalist Villian Murray who recently passed on due to brief illness.
A statement by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has commiserated with the Adamawa chapter alongside Bayelsa and Lagos chapters over the loss of their members in recent times.
A statement by SWAN Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Olalekan Ige said Sammy Barida (Bayelsa), Ignatius Ajuonuma (Lagos) and Villain Murray (Adamawa) recently passed on due to various ailments.
The SWAN National Secretariat praised the commitment of the deceased to the growth and development of sports in Nigeria through their various reportage and analysis.
It particularly commended them for their contributions to SWAN in their respective states and noted that their demise happened at a time they were needed to offer even more services to the Association, Nigeria and humanity.
SWAN offered deep condolences to the executive and members of the association across the respective states, adding that the losses were indeed shocking and sad at this point in time.
It offered commiserations to their respective families, asking them to take solace in the fact that their sons and daughter made contributions towards uplifting humanity.
The National Secretariat prayed for the repose of their souls and, the fortitude and perseverance by the families to bear the irreparable losses.
