🇳🇬 Army Strengthens Training Infrastructure to Enhance Operational Readiness

The Nigerian Army has reinforced its drive to build a more combat-ready force with the commissioning of newly constructed training facilities at the 3 Division Training School and Shooting Range, Miango, Plateau State, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the operational effectiveness of officers and soldiers.

The new hostel blocks, commissioned by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, are expected to improve training standards by providing a conducive environment for learning and professional military development.

Speaking during the commissioning, the COAS reaffirmed that training remains the bedrock of the Nigerian Army's operational effectiveness, stressing that modern learning facilities are essential to producing highly skilled, disciplined and mission-ready personnel capable of addressing contemporary security challenges.

Lieutenant General Shaibu said the initiative aligns with his Command Philosophy, anchored on the Soldier First Concept, which prioritises the welfare and professional development of personnel as the foundation of a motivated and combat-ready force as contained in a statement issued by the Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele. 

The Army Chief noted that sustained investment in training infrastructure remains critical to strengthening institutional capacity and enhancing the Service's ability to fulfil its constitutional responsibility of safeguarding Nigeria's sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security.

He commended the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander, Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, for initiating the project and for the prudent management of resources that made its completion possible.

The commissioning forms part of the Nigerian Army's broader modernisation efforts aimed at improving operational readiness through enhanced training, personnel development and institutional capacity.
