He emphasized that the activities of the department had created a better understanding between the NA and civilians, emphasizing that these have had tremendous effects on the NA operations.
He appreciated the Chief of Civil Military Affairs for the visit, expressing optimism that the department was in capable hands under the leadership of Maj Gen Ugbo.
The CCMA Major General Nosakhare Ugbo said they were in Maiduguri on an operational visit and to sensitize troops on the need to carry out their mandate professionally in line with international best practices.
General Ugbo further said periodic sensitization exercises would enable troops to better understand the rules of engagement and other laws of armed conflict and urged the troops to strictly adhere to international humanitarian laws for smooth operations.
He further noted that the programme will enlighten troops on the complaints of civilians within and outside the theatre of operations, in a bid to enable them to conduct themselves in a manner that is within the law.
