The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), has congratulated one of its outstanding members, Mrs. Diiarau Walson-Jack, Deputy Monitor General, SEC 30, 2008 on her appointment new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
The association president Ambassador Okafor, on behalf of the National Executive Committee and members says he rejoices with her on the appointment which takes effect from August 14, 2024.

Her great wealth of experience garnered through decades of distinguished public service across various ministries, positions her perfectly to lead the civil service into a new era of brilliance. The association praises her dedication to both AANI and its members is always a source of immense pride to us all as well as her exemplary service as Solicitor-General of Bayelsa State, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, and most recently, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Water Resources, stands as a monument to her unwavering commitment and quest for professionalism and excellence.
Her educational background is equally impressive. An esteemed alumna of the Federal Government Girls’ College, Benin City, and the Federal Government College in Ilorin, she is a shining example for future generations. Her legal prowess, honed at the University of Lagos and solidified by her call to the Nigerian Bar in 1987, is a testament to her intellectual brilliance. Furthermore, her personal life reflects the values she embodies.
Married to Honourable Nimi Walson-Jack, a former general secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and a leading civic educator, she has instilled those same values in their two children, both of whom have chosen the noble path of law.
Mrs Walson-Jack trajectory since her first appointment as Permanent Secretary in 2017 is nothing short of phenomenal as her exceptional leadership has been felt across the Service Welfare Office, the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, and the Federal Ministries of Power, Water Resources, and Sanitation.
The AANI acknowledges, takes immense pride and celebrates the new Head of Service’s numerous accolades, including African Iconic Female Administrator of the Year (2024), an Award of Excellence from the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs (2019), and Public Administrator of the Year for Bayelsa State (2008).
