In order to have an avenue of engaging with female officers, cadets, and civilian staff of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) the Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister Uju Kennedy, visited the institution to empower and support women in the armed forces.
The Minister praised NDA's efforts and expressed her ministry's eagerness to collaborate with the prestigious military institution.

She emphasized the need for a collective approach to address the challenges faced by women in the military and to leverage their skills and talents for the benefit of the nation.
The Commandant of the NDA highlighted the substantial progress made in the training and integration of women in the armed forces.
He said the training of female personnel in the armed forces has come a long way, emphasizing the Academy's commitment to gender equality and inclusivity.

Highlights of the visit included an inspection of the quarter guard, a tour of Navy Simulation Centre, Land Forces Simulation Centre and other facilities. The minister also withnessed a combat swimming display before signing the Visitors register
