During an
operational visit to formations under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, the COAS
charged troops to remain relentless, disciplined, and focused on the mission of
securing Nigeria’s northwest corridor.
According to a statement by the Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Zaki Kuka, General Oluyede said: “Our mission is clear - we must finish the job. Banditry will not defeat us. Nigeria depends on your courage, discipline, and sacrifice.
”
The Army
Chief praised the troops for recent operational gains in Katsina and
neighbouring states, noting their efforts had denied terrorists freedom of
movement and restored confidence among local communities.
He also
reiterated the Army’s commitment to improved welfare, timely logistics, and
enhanced intelligence capabilities to give troops the edge in current
operations.
The COAS emphasized that Operation FANSAN YAMMA, recently launched across the northwest, is designed to dominate ungoverned spaces, neutralise terrorist enclaves, and ensure residents can return to their farmlands without fear.
“This is not just a battle against bandits — it is about protecting Nigeria’s integrity, dignity, and future,” Oluyede told soldiers, urging them to hold their ground.
