The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 3 Operation FANSAN YAMA, Major General CR Nnebeife, has led troops to rescue two kidnapped victims during an operational visit to Babanla Patrol Base in Kwara State.

The GOC’s visit followed a deadly bandit attack on 8 October at Olegbede village, near Idofin Ayekale, Omu-Aran LGA, where three persons were killed. The attackers were said to have exploited the proximity of Babasango Forest to launch their assault on traders.During the visit, Major General Nnebeife paid a condolence call on the traditional ruler, Oba Pius Oluwole Oni Dofin of Idofin Odoeshe Ayekale, assuring him of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to sustained operations to flush out bandits and other criminal elements from the forest axis.
According to a statement by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Polycarp Okoye, the GOC also advanced with troops into Babasango Forest during the operation, where two kidnapped victims were rescued and subsequently handed over to the Royal Father.
Major General Nnebeife reaffirmed that the ongoing clearance operations would be intensified to ensure the safety of lives and property in the area.Search Description
