🇳🇬 NAF Confirms Safe Precautionary Landing Of C-130 Aircraft In Burkina Faso




The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed that a C-130 aircraft on a ferry mission to Portugal made a safe precautionary landing in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, after the crew detected a technical concern shortly after takeoff from Lagos.

The aircraft diverted to the nearest available airfield on Monday, 8 December 2025, in accordance with standard safety procedures and international aviation protocols, with all crew members reported safe.


According to a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the decision to land was purely precautionary and professionally executed by the crew. He said the personnel received cordial treatment from authorities in Burkina Faso following the unscheduled landing.


The Nigerian Air Force stated that plans are already underway to resume the ferry mission as scheduled after necessary technical evaluations.


It reassured the public of its continued commitment to strict compliance with operational procedures and aviation safety standards, stressing that the protection of personnel remains paramount while the Service carries out its constitutional responsibilities.


The NAF also expressed appreciation for the support received during the period, reaffirming its professionalism and safety culture across all air operations.
