The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede, has reaffirmed the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s commitment to restoring national security and sustaining coordinated operations against threats confronting the country.

In his 2026 Eid-El-Kabir goodwill message, the Defence Chief positioned the Islamic celebration as a reminder of sacrifice, faith, obedience and national responsibility, while urging Nigerians to remain united in support of peace, stability and national cohesion.
Eid Reflection Anchored On Sacrifice, Patriotism And National Unity
Within the Defence Headquarters’ message, General Oluyede stressed that the enduring lessons of Eid-El-Kabir remain closely tied to patriotism, selflessness and collective commitment toward national peace and security.
The CDS noted that the values symbolised by Prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice continue to resonate within the Armed Forces’ operational culture and national service responsibilities.
The Defence leadership further maintained that love for country, sacrifice for one another and commitment to peaceful coexistence remain essential pillars for achieving long-term national harmony and stability.
Defence Headquarters Salutes Troops Across Operational Fronts
General Oluyede also paid tribute to troops deployed across various theatres of operation, acknowledging what military authorities described as enormous sacrifices being made daily to safeguard national security and public safety.
The Defence Chief equally recognised ongoing collaboration among security and intelligence agencies, highlighting continued inter-agency synergy as a critical component of efforts to address Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
Within the Armed Forces’ operational outlook, the Whole-of-Government Approach remains central to ongoing national security responses aimed at restoring peace across affected regions.
Tinubu’s Support To Armed Forces Acknowledged
The CDS further expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for continued support toward strengthening the operational capacity of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Defence leadership maintained that sustained presidential backing remains important to ongoing military operations, institutional reforms and broader national security objectives.
General Oluyede also assured Nigerians of the Armed Forces’ continued determination to overcome security threats confronting the nation while working toward a safer and more secure national environment.
