According to a statement issued by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, stated that Theatre Commander Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar presented the operational assessment while hosting Mr Valerio Cataldi, Bureau Chief of African Voices and leader of the Italian Radio Television delegation, during a courtesy visit to Headquarters Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri.

Major General Abubakar explained that sustained intelligence-led operations, integrated kinetic and non-kinetic campaigns and the systematic disruption of terrorist logistics have compelled the surrender of terrorist commanders, fighters and logistics collaborators while creating conditions for displaced communities to return home, farmers to resume cultivation and security forces to recover weapons and other combat equipment.

He also reaffirmed that Operation HADIN KAI conducts all operations in accordance with International Humanitarian Law and the Armed Forces of Nigeria's Rules of Engagement, placing civilian harm mitigation at the centre of operational planning. While acknowledging evolving threats such as improvised explosive devices and the growing use of armed drones by terrorist groups, he maintained that enhanced capabilities, specialised training and stronger partnerships have continued to improve security across the theatre.

Mr Cataldi said the delegation intended to document the realities of the conflict by capturing the sacrifices of Nigerian troops, the experiences of affected communities and the operational progress being made against terrorism for international audiences.

Beyond the courtesy visit, the engagement reflects Operation HADIN KAI's broader strategic communication effort to shape credible global narratives around Nigeria's counterterrorism campaign while reinforcing confidence in the Armed Forces' ongoing operations.
