That strategy received an unusual but significant endorsement when the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, led a delegation of traditional rulers from the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs to the Presidential Villa to express appreciation to President Tinubu following the successful rescue of school pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Beyond a ceremonial visit, the delegation reflected growing confidence among traditional institutions in the evolving capacity of Nigeria's security agencies to resolve complex hostage situations without rewarding criminal enterprises. Speaking on behalf of the royal fathers, the Olubadan acknowledged the anxiety that accompanied the abduction but noted that the successful rescue operation demonstrated the professionalism, operational competence and determination of the nation's security services.
