The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd) has expressed deep sorrow over the military aircraft crash involving aircraft with tail number NAF 931 and the loss of personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

The incident claimed the lives of officers and airmen who were on a routine flight mission while serving the nation. The Minister described the loss as a painful blow to the Armed Forces and the country, while recognising the professionalism, loyalty and commitment of the personnel who died in the crash.
In a statement by the Special Assistant to the Minister on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, General Musa, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces, extended condolences to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the military leadership, and the families, loved ones and colleagues of the fallen personnel.
He also expressed sympathy to the families of civilians who were on board the ill-fated aircraft, acknowledging their loss and grief.
The Minister said a comprehensive investigation had been ordered to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash and ensure that necessary operational safety protocols are reinforced across military aviation units.
He prayed for eternal repose for the souls of the departed and for strength and comfort for their families, the military community and Nigerians affected by the tragedy.
