President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria has launched the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance emblem appeal fund with a donation of N18 billion for the Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements for families of fallen heroes of the Armed Forces.
The emblem appeal was launched on Wednesday in a brief ceremony at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
President Tinubu assured the Armed Forces of Nigeria of his administration’s continuous support to the nation’s Armed Forces with a view to repositioning theem.
He emphasized his administration's ultimate goal is to create an environment, devoid of threats and criminal activities, giving opportunities for everyone living within the Nigerian borders to prosper in peace.
“The emblem that I shall launch shortly, remains a symbol of remembrance and a beacon of hope for a peaceful future. It is also our humble way of appreciating the veterans and the families of their fallen colleagues.”
