Paris 2024 Olympics Put Up A Spectacle Opening Ceremony

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are underway with nothing short of a spectacle Opening Ceremony as organisers showed determination determined to make the Paris 2024 event one to beat.

The event was highlighted by a sprawling boat parade that ferried nearly 7,000 athletes along a long route featuring performances by Lady Gaga and Celine Dion.
Paris the French capital plays host to the 2024 Olympics with a difference as organisers put up a show in celebration of the city rather than the traditional focus on the Olympic Stadium.

The French threw what many described as a big outdoor party converging World stars and athletes, showcasing an elevated Cauldron for the first time in the Olympics ceremony.
The hot-air balloon took flight as the Cauldron was lit above Paris and will last for the duration of the Games meeting great cheers from the crowd that gathered under a rainy weather to witness and take it all in.

The flames are seven metres wide with final torch bearers, French former sprinter Marie-Jose Perec and French judoka Teddy Riner, who arrive to light the Olympic Cauldron.
The Eiffel Tower was a light show through the ceremony showcasing the Olympic rings while spectators gather in stands along the river Seine. Spanish Tennis Legend who won French Tennis Open a record 14 times, Rafael Nadal takes the torch from former French footballer, Zinedine Zidane to a speedboat on the Seine where American tennis player Serena Williams rides along with USA sprinter Carl Lewis on the vessel.
The Olympic flame took a trip across the streets, roofs and bridges of Paris before arriving at the Eiffel Tower, before the 25th French president declares the Paris Games open.

There was an an address by the International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach who declares "we are all part of an event that unites the world, In a world torn apart by wars and conflicts, it is through this Olympics that we can all come together.”
The next few days will witness athlests compete in various sporting events varying for laurels in their specialised events.
