9 Brigade Nigerian Army (NA) has emerged as winner of 81 Division 2024 Inter-Brigade Combat Proficiency Competition. during a 5-day competition flagged off by the General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa.
The General Officer Commnading who was represented by the 81 Division Training Officer, Brigadier General OB Davies, charged the officers to be professional in their conducts and shun any act cheating that will mar their careers and reputation of the formation they are representing.
In an address of welcome, the host of the competition and the Commanding Officer 243 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel AM Abdu, emphasized that the competition is aimed at enhancing the leadership traits, combat readiness and proficiency of troops in order to prepare them for effective handling of physical operational demands and challenges.
The General Officer Commnading 81 Division in a closing remark, commended the participants for their performances and observed that what culminated to the various successes recorded were borne out of hard work, discipline, and resourcefulness put in at various levels of preparation.
The 9 Brigade team came first in obstatcle crossing, live firing and weapon handling exercises during the competition to emerge overall winner.
