The just concluded 2024 Combined Second and Third Quarters Chief of Army Staff Conference afforded various theatre and formation commanders the opportunity to provide insights on the activities of their areas of responsibility, with a view to better position their operations for uptimal results.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja stated this while declaring closed, the Chief of Army Staff Combined Second and Third Quarters Conference 2024 held at the Council of Chiefs Hall Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
In a statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Army Chief called for the support of law-abiding citizens for the government and security forces in the effort to make Nigeria safe and prosperous.
General Lagbaja reassured the nation of Nigerians of the Army's resolve to continually collaborate with sister services and other security agencies to ensure security of lives and property across the nation.
The Army Chief further noted that the feedback from the various commanders in the field was encouraging. He stressed that the prevailing security challenges facing the nation though daunting, are surmountable, reassuring them that they are on the right path to victory.
In recognition of the contributions of senior level commanders, who were posted out of command recently, the COAS presented the Nigerian Army Formation Command Appreciation and Recognition Plaque to three senior level commanders, namely Major Generals HG Tafida, GM Mutkut and MT Usman.
General Taoreed Lagbaja appreciated the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinibu for his trust in the Nigerian Army's leadership and the unwavering support to the service.
He equally reassured him of the unflinching loyalty and commitment of the Nigerian Army to the country's constitution and promotion of national interest and values.
