The Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba stated this on Monday during the Joint Press Briefing by Security, Defense and Response Agencies organised by the Strategic Communications Interagency Policy Committee, at the Headquarters, Department of State Service (DSS) in Abuja Nigeria's Capital.
The troops also recovered 440 weapons and 10,589 rounds of ammunition, while also thwarting oil theft worth over N3 billion. The Defence Headquarters emphasized the commitment of the Nigerian military to the effective discharge of its constitutional mandate even in the face of daunting challenges.
Operation DELTA SANITY, on July 9, recued eight female victims of human trafficking in Badagry and the following day, a sea robbery attempt was foiled in Ibaka, Akwa Ibom State. Also the joint efforts of Nigerian Navy and Army personnel culminated in the arrest of five members of a kidnapping and armed robbery gang in a joint operation at Forward Operating Base Igbokoda on July 25.
