The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, has written to the President to officially step down from his capacity as the Spokesperson of the President.
The move follows an indefinite leave of absence tendered to the President to enable him deal with medical matters affecting his immediate nuclear family as contained in his statement made available to the state house corespondents.
Ngelale in the statement issued on Saturday and signed by him said that he had submitted a memo conveying his intentions to proceed on an indefinite leave of absence to attend to medical matters of an immediate family member as the now former Presidential aide also relinquished his functions as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman, Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
Ngelale stressed that his decision was taken after significant consultations with his family, requesting that privacy be accorded him over his decisions.
