The governor’s visit comes in the wake of fresh bandit attacks that have left scores displaced and heightened security concerns across Zamfara State.

Governor Lawal visited Banga, Kurya Madaro, Maguru, Sakajiki, and Kyambarawa communities in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, where he sympathised with victims and pledged stronger security interventions. He noted that the attacks had displaced thousands of women and children, further exposing them to hardship and vulnerability.

In Banga, the governor reassured residents of his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity, recalling that he had dispatched his deputy and the Secretary to the State Government to visit immediately after the attacks while he was away. “We are not happy with the current security situation in the state and other parts of the country,” he said.

Lawal stressed the government’s readiness to collaborate with security agencies and stakeholders to find lasting solutions, describing security as “a prerequisite for development.” He urged communities to intensify prayers, expressing belief that divine intervention would help end the violence.

During his stop in Sakajiki, the governor announced plans to construct a road linking the community to the main road, saying it would boost both security and socio-economic activity.

Fact-Check & Background Context:
