🇳🇬 Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police Reintroduces Biannual Training Workshop After 12-Years

The Provost Marshal (Army), Major General Mathias Erebulu, emphasized on Tuesday during the opening of the Corps’ Biannual Training Workshop 2025 at the Nigerian Army Conference Centre, Abuja. The first comprehensive training workshop for the Corps since 2013.

The event provides a platform for exchanging ideas, strategic thinking, and knowledge sharing to empower personnel to effectively respond to evolving operational demands. Major General Erebulu highlighted the urgency of refocusing attention on professionalism, operational effectiveness, and inter-agency collaboration in today’s dynamic security environment.
 
The theme of this year’s workshop, ‘Enhancing the Professional Competence of the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police Personnel to Effectively Discharge Their Responsibilities in a Joint and Multi-Agency Environment,’ underscores our commitment to equipping our personnel with the skills and insight necessary to maintain law, order, and discipline across all operational theatres,” he said.
 
The Provost Marshal outlined that lectures would cover investigations, regimentation, discipline, and the prevention of arms and ammunition leakage. He stressed that the Corps must continuously strengthen its institutional capacity and adapt to emerging security threats while supporting joint operations to enhance the Nigerian Army’s overall effectiveness.
 
Major General Erebulu also acknowledged the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for his unwavering support and vision, noting that his guidance had been instrumental in fostering growth and operational excellence across all formations, including the Corps of Military Police. He further welcomed resource persons, security agency heads, principal staff officers, and veterans of the Corps, urging participants to engage actively and generate actionable insights throughout the workshop.
 
The Provost Marshal concluded by wishing all participants a successful workshop and reaffirmed the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police’s commitment to excellence in service, discipline, and integrity.
