General Oluyede delivered this message on Thursday during a Christmas luncheon for frontline troops of 3 Division Nigerian Army and Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE in Plateau State, held as part of morale boosting efforts for personnel deployed across active operational theatres.

The Defence Chief was represented at the event by the Commander Armour Corps, Major General UB Abubakar, who conveyed the CDS’s goodwill and appreciation to officers and soldiers on the frontline.

According to the remarks delivered on behalf of the CDS, Christmas is a season of love, sacrifice, hope and renewal, values which the troops continue to embody by remaining at their duty posts while many Nigerians celebrate with their families.

“Your courage, discipline and professionalism epitomise the finest traditions of the Armed Forces of Nigeria,” the message stated.

General Oluyede commended the troops’ performance under Operation ENDURING PEACE, noting that their sustained operations have restored confidence among law abiding citizens and contributed to improved stability across Plateau State and parts of Kaduna, Nasarawa and Benue States.

He urged the personnel to sustain synergy with sister security agencies and deepen engagement with host communities, stressing that security success depends on a whole of government and whole of society approach.

The CDS reassured the troops that their welfare remains a top priority, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve living and working conditions, healthcare delivery and support for military families. He also cautioned personnel to maintain heightened vigilance during the festive period.

General Oluyede further expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, for his unwavering support to military operations nationwide, while reaffirming the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s resolve to remain steadfast in the defence of the nation.

Earlier, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General EF Oyinlola, welcomed the CDS and thanked him for identifying with troops during the Yuletide season.

He said the presence of senior military leadership served as a strong morale booster for personnel deployed within the Joint Operations Area and highlighted operational gains recorded by the task force, including the neutralisation of criminal elements, arrest of suspected kidnappers and recovery of arms, which contributed to a relatively peaceful Christmas across the region.

The event’s highlight was the symbolic serving of Christmas meals to frontline troops by the CDS’s representative and senior officers, a gesture that reinforced leadership’s closeness to personnel and further boosted morale on the frontline.
