🇳🇬 Plateau State Partners Defence Holdings Company to Launch Defence Farms in Wase

Plateau State has pledged strategic partnership with Defence Holdings Company Limited (DHCL) to facilitate the launch of Defence Farms and Agro-Allied Products (DFAAP) on 30,000 hectares of land in Wase Local Government Area, aimed at boosting food production and enhancing security in the region.

The commitment was made during a meeting at the Government House, Jos, where Governor Barrister Caleb Mutfwang received the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of DHCL, Air Vice Marshal Anthony Victor Ndace, and his technical team to discuss the project’s take-off and areas of collaboration.

According to a statement by the Director, Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, Governor Mutfwang, represented at the meeting by the Secretary to the State Government, Architect Samuel Jatau, lauded DHCL’s vision, highlighting the initiative’s potential to strengthen agricultural output and regional stability. The Governor reaffirmed the state government’s readiness to immediately hand over the 30,000 hectares allocated for the project.

Air Vice Marshal Ndace, speaking on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, thanked the Plateau State Government for the land allocation and expressed the delegation’s commitment to assessing the site and exploring collaborative interventions aligned with the Federal Government’s food security agenda.

The visit included presentations on the agricultural potentials of the 98,000 hectares at Wase, of which 30,000 hectares will host the initial phase of DFAAP, an exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph with state officials and the DHCL team.

The Governor encouraged the DHCL delegation to explore Plateau State’s cultural heritage and landscapes, while wishing them a productive visit. He also commended the Chief of Defence Staff for his efforts toward national stability.
