Nigeria’s counter-insurgency efforts received a renewed diplomatic and operational boost as the Defence Attachés of the United Kingdom and Germany visited the Headquarters of the Theatre Command, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in Maiduguri.

In a statement issued during the visit, Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, highlighted the strategic significance of the engagement. Brigadier Tom Harper of the UK and Colonel Boris Bovecamp of Germany reaffirmed mutual commitments to operational training, intelligence sharing, and regional cooperation mechanisms aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s counterterrorism effectiveness.
The Theatre Commander of OPHK, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, commended the partnerships, noting that joint training initiatives have strengthened troops’ tactical skills and readiness against evolving threats. Future collaboration is expected to encompass technical expertise, equipment provision, and logistics support, enhancing both regional stability and operational efficiency.
The visit concluded with customary formalities, including a signing of the visitors’ register, presentation of souvenirs, and an official group photograph, marking a symbolic affirmation of enduring military ties.
