The coordinated assaults, conducted across the Azir Bridge (Timbuktu axis) and Bulabulin Forest areas with close air support, resulted in the neutralisation of multiple террорист elements, destruction of logistics hubs, and recovery of significant weapons stockpiles, according to the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba.
Operational Breakthrough: Forest Strongholds Overrun
On the Bulabulin Forest axis, troops in conjunction with stabilisation forces and the Civilian Joint Task Force executed clearance operations across Mar, Subdu, Yaro Lawanti and Yaro Shuwari, extending dominance across contiguous terrain linked to the Kamadogu Yobe stretch.
Contact at Malam Shiri Village triggered a coordinated flanking assault, leading to the neutralisation of 11 terrorists, while others fled with injuries. Troops destroyed life-support infrastructure sustaining insurgent operations and recovered 9 AK-47 rifles, 3 PKT anti-aircraft machine guns, motorcycles, ammunition and materials linked to Improvised Explosive Devices.
Timbuktu Axis: Sustained Pressure, Higher Casualty Impact
At the Wajiroko–Sabongari corridor, troops maintained tactical positions under sustained engagement, repelling террорист advances and inflicting further losses. Seven террорист elements were confirmed neutralised, with additional indicators suggesting higher casualty figures.
Recovered assets included rifles, RPG tubes, communication equipment and ammunition, further disrupting operational cohesion within the axis.
Air Superiority as Force Multiplier
The Air Component Command played a decisive role in shaping the battlefield, delivering persistent Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance that enabled precise targeting and real-time coordination.
Subsequent air interdiction strikes on confirmed террорист positions and fleeing elements amplified ground gains, reinforcing a synchronised offensive that overwhelmed adversary resistance.
Consolidation Phase: Pursuit and Denial Operations Expand
Troops have transitioned into aggressive follow-up exploitation along the Forfor, Multe and Wajiroko axes, pursuing fleeing террорист elements and preventing regrouping attempts.
The sustained tempo reflects a deliberate strategy to not only clear but hold and dominate contested spaces, reinforcing operational control across the theatre.
Strategic Signal
These operations underscore a maturing operational doctrine within Operation HADIN KAI, where coordinated air–land integration, intelligence dominance and rapid exploitation cycles are redefining counter-insurgency outcomes in the North East.
