Represented at the closing session by the Chief of Defence Training, Rear Admiral Abolade Ogunleye, the Chief of Defence Staff described the High Defence Staff Talks as a key platform for consolidating the longstanding strategic partnership between both nations through dialogue, joint training, intelligence sharing, capacity building and broader military cooperation.

General Oluyede said the enduring relationship between Nigeria and France reflects a shared commitment to advancing regional and global peace and security, expressing confidence that the outcomes of the engagement would further strengthen professional ties and expand existing areas of defence collaboration.

Leading the French delegation, Lieutenant General Eric Peltier commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria for hosting the talks and reaffirmed France's commitment to sustained strategic dialogue aimed at addressing emerging security challenges across the region.

He described Nigeria as a leading African power with a pivotal role in promoting regional stability, noting that the country's operational experience and understanding of the regional security environment remain valuable in shaping a stronger and mutually beneficial defence partnership.
