The rescue operation by troops of Operation HADIN KAI has renewed attention on the link between intelligence-driven military operations, community resilience and the wider effort to rebuild areas impacted by prolonged terrorist activities.
Security success meets community recovery
Governor Zulum, while commending the Nigerian military for the operation, recalled his previous engagements with residents of Ngoshe, including visits to affected communities and displaced persons in Pulka, where he assured victims of continued government commitment toward securing the release of those still in captivity.
The governor’s intervention also extended beyond the immediate rescue effort, with directives for the assessment and reconstruction of damaged houses in Ngoshe to support the return of residents who fled to neighbouring communities.
Intelligence advantage reshapes counter-insurgency response
Zulum described the operation as a demonstration of courage, professionalism and the increasing effectiveness of intelligence-led approaches in confronting insurgency challenges across Borno State.
The recovery of men, women and children held by terrorists, according to the governor, reinforces the importance of coordinated action between security forces, government institutions and affected communities in sustaining pressure against extremist networks.
Military-civilian cooperation remains critical
The governor praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Theatre Commander of Operation HADIN KAI and troops involved in the operation, noting that their performance reflected continued commitment to protecting civilians and restoring stability.
He also acknowledged the role of local communities in supporting security operations and urged residents to maintain cooperation with security agencies by providing credible information that could assist ongoing operations.
Recovery effort continues beyond battlefield gains
While describing the rescue as a significant achievement, the governor stressed that the wider security mission remains ongoing, particularly in areas where citizens remain vulnerable to terrorist activities.
He reaffirmed the Borno State Government’s readiness to continue supporting security agencies while urging residents of communities affected by insecurity to remain hopeful as efforts continue toward restoring peace and enabling safe returns.
